Savroc is the engineering company behind TripleHard®, a small team in Kuopio, Finland, founded in 2012. We take manufacturers from the simulation of their parts to stable production in their own plants.

How it started
Try, fail, learn. Then try again.
Savroc was founded in Kuopio in 2012 around one question: can hard chrome be plated without the chemistry that makes it dangerous? The way we work has not changed since. We run an experiment, it fails, we study the failure, we learn, and we run the next one. Most of what we know about trivalent chromium was learned that way. TripleHard® itself started as an anomaly: a plain trivalent coating that sometimes came out far tougher than it should have. We chased that accident until we could make it happen every time.
The continuous line is the same story at a different scale. As far as we know, this chemistry had never been run as a continuous process, so we built a pilot line ourselves, on 3D-printed parts, and failed with it dozens of times. Each failure became a new part on the printer and a new run the next day. More than fifty versions later the process held, and that pilot became the industrial-scale line now running in Kuopio.
Our continuous line in Kuopio is running. V1 is now complete, and next we take TripleHard® into mass production at a customer, starting in 2027.
Savroc leads every customer project. Continuous lines for hydraulic rods are built by an industrial equipment partner to Savroc's process design. Industrial partners
Timeline
From a laboratory in Kuopio to the first continuous TripleHard® line, and where it leads.
Savroc Ltd founded in Kuopio, Finland.
Selected as one of the 25 most promising Nordic cleantech start-ups by Nordic Cleantech Open.
TripleHard® proven in niche applications, but not yet at a competitive cost per part.
The breakthrough: in-house chemistry and full hardness without heat treatment.
TripleHard® rods enter mining field service: the start of the mining field cases in Canada, Australia and Poland, 2020–2026.
TripleHard® enters industrial production, in open-tank coating of hydraulic rods at Hydroline in Tampere, a Savroc shareholder. The coating has by now been validated by a major global OEM.
The continuous process is developed on a self-built, 3D-printed pilot line. More than 50 versions tested.
The industrial-scale line arrives in Kuopio.
Installation completed on 8–9 August. First coatings produced.
Version 1 of the line complete: the first-round run parameters are locked, and optimisation continues.
Target: production ramp-up with a rod manufacturer, on a line built by our equipment partner with the process commissioned by Savroc.
Plan: mass production on the continuous line.
TripleHard® continuous lines in production at customers worldwide, and nickel and trivalent chromium as the standard way to make hard chrome. An ambition, not a forecast.
